GOD's Desire is for a Blessed Land and a Blessed People,

but.........the adversary.... Cursed Land and Cursed People

The Topical Encyclopedia from the bible.com website shows the impact of sin on the land. It shows us how land is a recurring theme in the Bible and can be a place of sin or blessing. Human behavior is directly connected to the physical land, atmosphere, culture, and all nature. Land is directly connected in a covenant relationship between GOD and humans.

The FALL Genesis 3:17-18 NLT

The land is cursed because of sin and rebellion

17 And to the man he said,

“Since you listened to your wife and ate from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat, the ground is cursed because of you.    All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.18 It will grow thorns and thistles for you,  though you will eat of its grains.

The COVENANT

Example of Covenant: Promised land is a product of God's blessing. [Also read Deuteronomy 28] which gives you the blessings and curses of obedience

The Curse Deuteronomy 28: 23-24 NLT

23 The skies above will be as unyielding as bronze, and the earth beneath will be as hard as iron. 24 The Lord will change the rain that falls on your land into powder, and dust will pour down from the sky until you are destroyed.

The Blessing Deuteronomy 28:7-8 NLT

7 “The Lord will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!

8 “The Lord will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.

Prophetic Warnings and Judgement

Jeremiah 12.4 NLT

How long must this land mourn? Even the grass in the fields has withered. The wild animals and birds have disappeared because of the evil in the land. For the people have said,

    “The Lord doesn’t see what’s ahead for us!”

Hosea 4.1-3 NLT

Hear the word of the Lord, O people of Israel! The Lord has brought charges against you, saying: “There is no faithfulness, no kindness, no knowledge of God in your land. 2 You make vows and break them; you kill and steal and commit adultery. There is violence everywhere—

one murder after another. 3 That is why your land is in mourning, and everyone is wasting away. Even the wild animals, the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea are disappearing.

Restoration and Redemption

Land can be restored through repentance of a nation, land, or remnant, of God's righteous ones.

2 Chronicles 7.14 NLT

14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
